Sally Zeckhauser Announces Her Retirement

On March 9th Vice President for Administration, Sally Zeckhauser, announced her retirement after 35 years of service to Harvard. Vice President Zeckhauser will remain at Harvard through the end of the academic year and begin her retirement in July. To see her letter to the VPA community, click here. HUP Author and President Faust Win Bancroft Prize

A Harvard University Press author, Thomas G. Andrews, and President Drew Faust have won the prestigious 2009 Bancroft Prize, awarded by the trustees of Columbia University for works in the fields of American history, biography and diplomacy. Andrews' book, Killing for Coal: America's Deadliest Labor War, and Faust's popular tome, This Republic of Suffering: Death and American Civil War, were two of the three winning titles, from among this year's 200 nominations. HRES Implements Cost-Saving Measures in Holyoke Center

In an effort to reduce rent for the tenants of Holyoke Center, Harvard Real Estate has introduced cost-saving measures in Holyoke Center, including closing one elevator bank, reducing the frequency of trash pick-up, and asking tenants to bring their own recycling to central locations. As a result, tenants will be pleased to learn that rents in Holyoke Center will decrease by 4% in FY2010.
